A subdomain uses DNS to create something.yourdomain.com. This can be done with all of our web hosting accounts via your control panel.

Newer Accounts

Subdomains with cPanel

  • In cPanel, click the Subdomains icon under the Domains heading
  • Type in the name for what you'd like to appear under Subdomain
  • Type in where you want to be uploading files to appear the the subdomain under Document Root
    • The default is public_html/yoursubdomainprefix, but it can be set to anything
  • Subdomains will usually resolve quickly, but please allow up to 24 hours for DNS to begin working
    • Especially if you tried loading the page once before this was configured



Older Accounts

Subdomains with SiteWorx

  • In SiteWorx, click the Subdomains on the left menu
  • Type in the name for what you'd like to appear under Subdomain
  • This will create a folder at public_html/yoursubdomainprefix where you can now upload files to appear under the subdomain
  • Subdomains will usually resolve quickly, but please allow up to 24 hours for DNS to begin working
    • Especially if you tried loading the page once before this was configured
