I have a domain name already registered someplace else. Can I host here?

Yes. You have two options:

  • Transfer domain: This is an option when you sign up for Ubiquity web hosting to register the domain with us instead.
    • This costs $8.95/year for most domain names and will extend the amount of time your domain is registered for by 1 year.
    • See How to transfer a domain for more information on how to do this
  • Change name servers: You can also just change your DNS server settings at your previous registrar to allow us to host it.

What is my domain status code?

Your domain status code shows on your whois information when you look-up your domain through a whois tool (such as http://whois.sc/ ). This shows the current state of your domain name, and determines who controls it, if it's about to expire, and whether it can currently be transfered and why.
